ibicci Hibiscus Stencil Collection

This Hibiscus Stencil Collection started when I was sent a photo of a small swatch of material by Miki of Sweet Bells to make a large strip stencil - you can see her cakes here & here. 

From this Flower panel, I extended and increased the elements - flowers, leaves, and decided to create a series of stencils for different uses.

Here's a couple of photos of how this progressed. Starting with a printout of the strip stencil the top and bottom were extended by pencil and ink to make a repeatable Swag. Further flowers and leaves were added once I had imported the drawing into my design program. After finalising the cake design, it was then sized down for a cookie sized stencil, and various parts were isolated and made into more stencils.

NOTE: For any of the 4 part repeatable stencils, it is advisable to start with the larger leaves against the height first, checking that the hibiscus flower layer will fit into the lower space before proceeding to decorate.
