Choosing your stencils

Can I get a stencil made into a long wrap version?

Absolutely! As all designs are created in house, these can be altered to a longer 'wrap' form, making it less time consuming to stencil a cake.

Keep an eye on the Wraparound page for new listings

Why do you use stencil photos like you do and not designs like others?

Good question!

People copy our designs, yes sad but true. Right from the beginning of ibicci we determined that we would only show/photo stencils on a textured background and NOT the designs as these are easily downloaded/copied.
Some of our most popular designs have been copied (mainly in Australia) and I often see other stencillers showing My customers' cakes using My stencil designs on THEIR website.

As our normal stencil material is clear (not opaque like Milar), showing them on a black background gives enough detail for customers to choose.
Our Mesh stencils however are much harder to photograph and often you'll see them against a blue background.

Are my choices limited to what I see on this website?

No, this is just to give you an idea of what we can do, and to make it easy to buy our ‘most popular’ options. We love to customise orders to whatever you need – stencils have been made for Tiki bars in the USA, Glassware in Hawaii, Quilts in Australia as well as creating stencils from wedding dresses for wedding cakes and Company logos for catering needs or Product ID. Just send us an email with details.

Can we use your stencils on material?

Absolutely!

Many people have asked for stencils to be used on material - for making Polynesian performing costumes for instance or Tapa style clothing material or even quilt designs and logos.

The thing to be careful with is to ensure that the medium you use is a WATER-BASED medium. This means the stencils can be washed before reusing. They will have some build up of colour in the plastic itself overtime which won't fully wash out but this doesn't hinder your stencilling.

Using other mediums like spray paints may result in your stencils being 'eaten' like acid and warping and be unable to be cleaned.

Mesh stencils especially need to be used carefully as some mediums can break down the bonding between the mesh and vinyl resulting in the loss of design elements.
